50th Anniversary Parade Sat 17JUL10

This weekend is the Sqn's 50th anniversary.

Saturday

Ceremonial Parade on Sat 17JUL10, rehearsal at 1200hrs as per email, march on at 1400hrs.

Saturday's Parade is Mandatory. Apply for leave if you can't be there.

The event is still on even if it is raining. We have a wet weather venue which will be advised if required upon arrival. The afternoon tea will take place in 2 hanger. Directions will be given once at the Cadet Forces Building.

Please report NLT 1150hrs to start practice on time.

Sunday

Church Service & Cake cutting ceremony to be held in Atrium of RNZAF Museum at 1000hrs.

18Squadron competed in the Davey Memorial Drill competition over the weekend, the first time for a number of years and was a great learning experience for the team. Well done U/O Snalam for managing the team this year.

SQN Gliding; SATURDAY 12JUN10

A great day was had by all who attended, the winch was pumping to give everyone a fast and exciting lift to the sky... Glide times varied due to the strenght of the wind, but some good long flights were possible.

Hororata put on a fine day, again thanks to The Canterbury Gliding Club!

SQUADRON SHOOT - SUN 16MAY

A good start to the shooting programme with 5 new Basic cadets successfully completing their first Range TOET and live shoot. Particulary well done to Cadets Leslie and Frater (w) who shot above 60 in their first shoots.

SGT Taylor scored the top 2 scores for the night with 71 & 70.
