No.18 Squadron were kindly invited by Lt. Col. R. Wellington to have a tour through a C-17 Globemaster on Sunday 6th Dec. This was a fantastic tour with the Officers and NCO's of the crew on hand to provide information on the aircraft

18SQN - Jock Turner Champs 2009

On the 5th December, 18 Sqn successfully competed for the annual Jock Turner Shooting Trophy between Canterbury/Westland District ATC units. The 2009 competition had teams from the 3 Christchurch Sqn's (18, 17, 38) and 36 (Greymouth) Sqn compete at the Bangor Street Rifle Range using the standard Wallingford format.

18 Sqn outscored the rest with a total of 415 with top scorer CPL Queen shooting a 78.

Inter-unit Theatre Sports Competition

Coming up this Friday is the inter-unit theatre sports competiton. This is set to be a battle of what will hopefully be witty improvised comedy between 18 (Avon) Squadron and 17 (City of Christchuch) Squadron. Cadets are welcomed to come along, watch and participate from the audience. For more information, see the joining instructions (Cadet login required).

18SQN Wins Southern Area Efficiency Trophy

18SQN has WON the Southern Area Air Training Corps Squadron Efficiency Trophy for 2009. This is a fantastic win for the unit and is a reflection of all the hard work of the Unit Officers, NCO's, cadets and Support Committee. We are now up against the Central and Northern area winners for the National Efficiency Trophy.
