18(Avon) Squadron, Air Training Corps estd. 1960
No.18 (Avon) Squadron, Air Training Corps is a Christchurch based cadet unit and one of the leading Air Cadet units in New Zealand.
Formed in 1961 it has a strong reputation for developing youth leaders. 18SQN also has a strong aviation focus with more Royal New Zealand Air Force Scholarship winners than any other ATC unit in New Zealand.

[UPDATE 04NOV14] - The AIRNZ visit on the 11th November has been postponed due to scheduling issues at AirNZ, a new date will be advised in due course.
On the 9th of November every cadet in the country will be marching through their local town to make the 150th Anniversary of the New Zealand Cadet Forces.
TS Godley, Christchurch Cadet Corp, No.17(City of Christchurch) Squadron, No.18(Avon) Squadron, and No.38(Wigram) Squadron will be marching through Christchurch to a memorial service beside The Bridge of Remembrance.
We will be reviewed by the Vice Chief of Defence Force, Air Vice-Marshall Kevin Short.
